HIS DATING ANXIETIES!
There's nothing quite like the rush you get a few minutes before a date. It's nerve-wracking: Your temperature rises, your stomach flip flops, and you may feel a little jittery. You obsess about how your date is going to go before it's even begun. So do the guys who make us so nervous have dating anxieties, too--and if so, what do they worry about? Check out what our panel of experts revealed.
AUBREY, 19: It's the first kiss always gets me--timing, location, everything about it is nerve-racking!
CHRISTOPHER, 20: I'm in a long-term relationship now, but when I was dating I was always looking for someone I could connect to. I tend to talk a lot about philosophy and current events, and I was always really worried about connecting to the girl on her level. I was always worried I would bore her.
MORDY, 19:I'm worried I might give the wrong impression. I'm really sarcastic, but I don't want to be misinterpreted as cynical.
JASON, 20:Oh, I don't know what makes the most nervous--usually dumb stuff like whether or not I'm wearing the right shoes.
SAM, 16: I'm insecure about saying the wrong thing and upsetting her. Or, telling a joke that just isn't funny. Or making the wrong move somehow. I guess I'm nervous about a lot of things.
KEITH, 20: Well, I'm always worried that I'll have clammy hands, which I always get when I'm nervous. So, I can pretty much bet that I'll always have clammy hands and be nervous about it!
5 SIGNS HE'S CHEATING!
Guys are unfaithful to their girlfriends for different reasons, but the signs are universal. Consult this list of shady behavior to see if your boyfriend may be cheating on you.
1.He's acting distant. If he's calling less frequently or has cancelled on plans repeatedly, he may be trying to pull away from you--because he's getting close to someone else.
2.You can't get in touch with him. If you try to call your boyfriend and no one--not even his family or best friends--can get a hold of him, you've got to ask yourself where's he hiding out and why?
3.He's suddenly insensitive, like he totally forgets plans and then shrugs it off. He may not be considering your feelings because he's thinking about another girl's.
4.His interests--or looks--have changed. If he's developed a new taste in music or clothes, it may be to impress another girl--or because of her influence.
5.He's stopped inviting you to join him in his favorite activities or at his usual hangouts. If you're not going with him, who is?
WHAT DO GUYS THINK ABOUT YOUR PICK-UP LINES?
You've heard 'em all, right? The obvious ones: "What's your sign?" The kind of funny ones: "Your daddy must be in jail, 'cause he stole the stars right outta the sky and put them in your eyes!" Even the plain old nasty ones: "Those pants look good on you, but they'd look even better. . . " Ugh. So we roll our eyes, ignore the poor chump or shoot a good one-liner back. Pick-up lines never really work . . . or do they? Why would guys keep using them if they were never getting any results? Then the thought: maybe guys use them because they've heard them from (gulp) girls? It's a terrible question, but we just had to find out. So we asked these five guys to tell us the best/worst/funniest pick-up lines they've ever heard -- from a girl.
TREY,20:I had a girl come up to me at a party, look at me really sincerely and say: "You've got really beautiful eyes." Then she just left. I didn't even have time to say thanks! I thought it was cool because I had to go track her down. It really made me want to find her.
LOGAN,23:Once, a girl asked me if she had seen me in a movie before. As hard as it was not to lie about it, I didn't. But it was cool because it opened up a good conversation -- we started talking about movies and found out we like the same ones, and then we went on a date!
VIET, 22:Girls pick up guys? What girls?! Where are they?!
GEORGE,21:One time I overheard a girl say to someone: "Do you believe in love at first sight, or do I need to walk by again?" That definitely caught my attention.
KEVIN,21:I hate pick-up lines. Maybe girls can tell, because they never try them on me. But a girl asked my friend: " I lost my number -- could I get yours?" The line didn't work or anything, but we thought it was funny.
SUMMER DATE IDEAS:
Want to show him a good time this summer? Check out these guy-approved date ideas, and make plans you'll both enjoy!
"Maybe hiking or camping. Something different from the usual is nice, because you get to experience cool stuff together."
--Erick, 20, Ft. Worth, TX
"In August, I'm looking forward to the Maroon 5 concert my girlfriend is taking me to. A concert is really fun to go to -- loud music, good food, and dancing the night away...that's what I call a fun time!"
--Teddy, 18, Redwood City, CA
"I really want to go on a road trip with my girlfriend!"
--Jim, 20, Edmonton, AB, Canada
"The best thing about summer is being able to go out and enjoy fresh air, and each other. That might sound a little cheesy, but it's always better than strolling in some huge triple-story mall. Any outdoor festival would be a great chance to bond one-on-one and still buy a little something beautiful for her, without the drab, enclosed mall scene."
Nouri, 19, Woodbridge, VA
"It would be really special to me if a girl took the time to consider my interests, and base a date around them. I would love to go see a play, musical, or some form of live theater."
John, 16, West Chester, OH
